Portis, officially listed as questionable on the injury report, is dealing with a knee sprain he incurred during the Redskins' 23-6 home loss to Pittsburgh on November 3.
Redskins head coach Jim Zorn had termed Portis as having a "50/50" chance to suit up on Monday. But Portis revealed on Tuesday that he has a second-degree MCL sprain and spent the week out of practice.
The running back came into the week the second-leading rusher in the NFL this season with 995 yards. Only Minnesota's Adrian Peterson (1,100) has more. Portis has also rushed for seven touchdowns, and caught 18 passes for 150 yards.

”He exudes confidence and he's got a great presence about him,'' the trainer said. ''I feel great about the position we're in. He's not worried about anything, why should you be?''
